Guestbay
In development

A desktop app for QEMU.

Windows, Linux and macOS. It manages a library of virtual machines, shows the console in the window, and serves the same screen to a browser on your network.

Every machine is a file you can read, and the command line it runs is one click away.

The Guestbay library listing virtual machines with their state, memory and disk use

What it does

Library
State, CPU, memory and uptime. Start, shut down, force stop, pause, reset. Machines keep running when the app closes.
Console
noVNC in the window, or a browser on your LAN behind a password. Send keys, paste text as keystrokes, take screenshots.
New machines
Linux cloud images with a user, SSH keys and packages. Installer ISOs. Windows 10 and 11 unattended with VirtIO drivers. macOS via OpenCore.
Hardware
Machine type, CPU and topology, memory, UEFI, TPM, disks, NICs, port forwards, USB, boot order, raw arguments — limited to what your QEMU build supports.
Disks
Snapshots, resize, clone as a copy or an overlay, convert format, export to a folder that imports again elsewhere.
Acceleration
Says so when QEMU falls back to software emulation instead of KVM, HVF or WHPX.

Requirements

Windows 10/11
QEMU for Windows, and Windows Hypervisor Platform turned on.
Linux
qemu-system-x86 and ovmf, plus swtpm for a TPM. Join the kvm group.
macOS
brew install qemu.
No QEMU yet
One button installs it with winget, Homebrew or your package manager.
